Stormsurge magnetization help

Does anyone have advice on Stormsurge magnetization? I want to have the main gun detachable but don't know whether I should use magnets or pins. I’m leaning towards pins but does anyone have some advice or experience they can share?

Magnets would be your best bet. You can get pretty small ones (2mmx2mm would probably be best), couple of those in the mounting socket should hold it nicely.

Re:Stormsurge magnetization help

Whilst I have no direct experience with magnetising the stormsurge, i have done several crisis suits. For the most sturdy of sturdy temporary joins, you want both magnets and pins. For smaller stuff (like crisis suit weapons) you can get away with unbelievably tiny magnets

However, my understanding of the stormsurges construction is that the back half of the main gun barrel is used for both options. So you will need to magnetise the join in the middle of the barrel instead if you wish to have them swappable.

But if you're just going to go for the gun to be detatchable then a larger magnet or two in the body and a couple of smaller magnets in the gun mount should suffice. If you want it to be able to be moved between the horizontal and upright position do not include a pin as it will be visible when you move it between the two positions.

One more thing, the gun will be forward heavy due to its construction, if this proves to be a problem look into weighing down the back end somehow. However this i have zero experience with so i can only wish you the best of luck with such an endeavour.
