WIP snowy stormcasts

Hello, almost 8 years are passed since i last painted something, but like 1 month ago the passion for warhammer came back, so i started again, older and wiser, and hope it can help somehow.
I decided to start with the AOS base set, stormcast was nice .
I decided to make some snow bases, and then i asked myself why i did that, setting my gold strong imperials, awesome, shiny stormcasters on a forgotten land full of snow and death.
Easy! Sigmar sent them to accomplish the quest of recover the ancient power of ice, hidden into the depths of a forgotten temple, and cause they are shiny big bosses, they did it.
For real they are not so shiny, i decided for a darker gold (back in my days shades were not a big deal, so i’m actually having fun with them)

Here the ice weapons(missing the lucid gloss):

And the bases:

Now over you feedback, general advices etc. I really need an help on the shields and shoulders.
I wanted to create and ice/blizzard effect, so i used what every painter should never use: drybrush on a flat surface. I like the effect enough. But i dont know what to do now, some white, then wash, and white? Skipping wash and just create some shades/highlights with drybrush?

Thanks for help

The shoulders look good, perhaps on the shields instead of more drybrushing use a stippling effect, particularly coming in from one side as if they're marching through a blizzard with their shields up like so:

A couple of other things I'd suggest to take them those extra couple of steps would be to get your snow effects and add little amounts to the crevices in the armour where it would accumulate on them and you can also create icicles that could hang from their shields by melting little bits of plastic.

Re:WIP snowy stormcasts

Actually my plan was to create an ice shield and shoulders, something that got the power of ice inside them

https://goo.gl/images/tc2yus

Like that for example, but not just made of ice, just like a power shield that glows cause it has the soul of ice

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well i did some tests on a shield and i really like it:

but shoulders are not what i really wanted, but i don't know what I can do to them

Okay, the shield looks boss. The blue has taken on an icy texture, which I really dig.

As for the shoulders, I think what might help is not having the snow/icy effect spread as much, and just focusing it on the tops of the shoulders, as snow and ice would be more likely to fall off the sides, since they are more sloped. Not sure if it will work, to be honest, but it's the best I can come up with.

Your bases are INCREDIBLY cool, by the way.
