I have been trying to find out how the GW painted Midnight sorrow vehicles have a purple black look to them but I have found nothing.

I am referring to the standard GW Harlequins on their website. Sorry I can't insert a picture as I have no idea how to.

Any advice on how to achieve this effect is greatly appreciated.

As for inserting pictures, you use the [ img ] and [ / img ] tags (remove the spaces between commands and square brackets) - and to get the link for the picture, right click it and "copy location". Maybe that's what they actually used for the model on the shop's picture, but with many glazes of screaming pink over the black, which go far beyond the typical edge highlights.

Personally I use a mix of VMC Gory red and VMC night blue (1:2), then highlight with pink horror.
