				<title>Xenos Minoris - Painting Advice Please...</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I've been inspired by other people's lesser/unknown aliens, and when I saw the Van Saar tech-masks, I knew I had to make one of my own. I'd really welcome any ideas you guys and girls have!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thanks all!<br /> <br /> <b>Flinty</b> - not sure about the Tyranid link (and I think what you're seeing as carapace is actually armour), but pale definitely doesn't sound or look daemonic.<br /> <br /> <b>Snrub</b> - I'm not sure if I'll do any more.  The base model is entirely monopose, but the Tzaangors have similar styled armour, so perhaps they could make a decent substitute.  Not sure if they're slender enough though.<br /> <br /> <b>sockwithaticket</b> - Blue-gray could work, but I reckon I'd have to keep it quite desaturated to avoid daemon overtones.  Perhaps greenish armour could work with it?<br /> <br /> <b>Dark Apostle 666</b> - I'm looking forward to menacing red/orange glowy eyes for sure!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ In regards to the colours scheme. I've now spent a while now looking at it trying to work out how i'd make it original and non-demonic and it's turning into a bit of a noodle scratcher for me. <br /> <br /> I'd definitely go with a pale flesh colour. The problem is though, just about whatever colour you choose is going to make him look like something else. <br /> If we break it down a bit.<br /> Red - Khorne<br /> Blue - Tau/Tzeench (I feel blue-grey would fall in here too)<br /> Yellow - Nothing that comes to mind<br /> Purple - Slaanesh/Tyranids (to some extent)<br /> Green - Orks/Nurgle<br /> Orange - Khorne again<br /> Browns/olives - Nurgle/Kroot.<br /> Flesh tones - Humans/Eldar<br /> <br /> Of your primary and secondary colours, yellow is the only one that isn't readily associated with daemons or the skin of another <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> army. However yellow might make him look a bit chicken like. <br /> <br /> Next hurdle is the armour.<br /> The pieces of armour he has on are all in their own ways, distinctive. The weapon is obviously eldar, the chest armour with leering face is decidedly daemonic in nature and the Van Saar head (which i had to look up because i didn't recognise it) is also quite unique, if while still largely uncommon i'm guessing. <br /> These will need paint schemes that aren't evocative of their host army to help draw the eye away from the distinct shapes.<br /> To that end, brass and gold is essentially ruled out. To Khornish. Silver might be usable, but only sparingly.<br /> Grey or white on the weapon is no go. Both colours are far to eldarish. Conversely, going to dark on the weapon will likely make it look too dark eldarish. So dark blues and greens might not be a great idea either.<br /> <br /> Were it me painting it. I'd be doing this.<br /> Arms and upper legs - pale yellow with faint banding on the arms (think tiger stripes). A slightly darker yellow or a light orange.<br /> Lower legs - light brown to a dark brown around the toes.<br /> Weapon - charcoal black. Maybe a hint of brown in the highlights or shaded with brown.<br /> Armour - hardest choice I think. Tempting to go same as the weapon. But I don't think it look right.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>
