Eldrad Ulthran

Found this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQz5l15dV_o) online for Eldrad and found it to be very useful. So I decided to pick up a figure and see if I can follow along.

One thing I noticed was how they paint one colour at a time, from base to layer to highlight. Something I've never done before. Is there any benefit to this? Or is it a preference thing?

Part preference, part practicality. Every model needs a different building and painting plan.

The challenge with the model being painted here is that the black base coat is the majority color. So you're painting around it.
