Out of the lorefriendly subfactions is the Glooming Lords. My concern mainly lies in the fact that they are mostly black.

I've never used black as a basecolour before, and I was wondering if anybody has any tips or advice to keep the feeling of depth on
the black, without having the green distract too much.

Any advice welcome!

That's the theory anyway My attempts are still quite basics but more layers of grey you use to highlight the better. From here you need to really be looking at your basic colour theory to decide what will work best with your chosen colour scheme.

As you've got Green/Yellow on your edging you make this really stand out by using a really dark Magenta/Violet tone, almost black, but not quite and then you use a lighter version for any edge highlights and real black in the absolute recesses.

You can work adictivly, adding more colour like when you highlight. Or you can work substractivly where you remove colour. You can use a was for this.

I would recomend painting it in an almost black. Highlight it, and wash it with black. Perhaps highlight is as well. A couple quick flicks with a drybrush is usually good.
