Definitely a product that shouldn't rightly exist in current 40k. There are far more parody and dark humor elements in Warhammer:40,000 rogue trader than just Inquisitor Clousseau.... I think my personal favourite was The Black Planet, Birmingham (which recieves almost no visible light and as a result no-one wants to go there. It's inhabitents have become culturally and linguistically isolated).

Then there's the bestiary including man-eating squirrels and facecloths (again, they re-appeared in the most recent Ciaphas Cain book, and are fething terrifying there).

To be honest the iconic Rogue Trader character for me is the infamous merchant? pirate? smuggler? Abdul Goldberg, your nemesis across three or four scenarios.

All in all, it's a pity the player base got so po-faced that this sort of stuff took a bit of a back seat.
