I just started trying to use AMMO MIG pigments for a Mars "dust" effect on my Black Templars. The first one came out decently. I was a little hard to make it look like the pigment/dust had settled naturally on the model. The second one came out terrible. Here are the steps I follow:

1. Using an old paint brush, I transfer pigment onto the model and spread it around.
2. Using a different paint brush (because the pigment is ALL OVER the other one now), I dip the brush into some Isopropyl Alcohol (94%) / Rubbing Alcohol and dab it onto the model.





What did I do wrong in this second one? (I may have used an already wet (from being painted with) brush on this last one. I do use water rather than alcohol for rust in crevices, but for the dusting the spray varnish seems to work.
