				<title>Noise Marines - Music of the Apocalypse Vs Characters</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hi all,  just after some clarification here.<br /> <br /> I played a tourny recently and one of the games was against an Emperors Children army.  The chap I was playing against was using the Noise Marines Music of the Apocalypse ability to shoot my Warlord when i killed the noise marines during the fight phase, despite there being other models much closer.  His reasoning was that the "you can't target a character" rule only applies in the shooting phase, as this was the fight phase that rule didn't count.  I too own an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(32);'>EC</span> army so was surprised at his ruling as I've never used that myself.<br /> <br /> It was a pretty awesome game and the chap was pretty cool, we brought the game to a draw in the end so i didn't really think much of it.  However reflecting on the game this could have been a win if my warlord wasn't slain and i would have placed in the prizes.  I've checked the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(36);'>FAQ</span>'s and my chaos codex and can't see anything that allows this shooting attack to target a character even if other models are closer. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I would go with the restrictions on targeting characters to still apply to MOTA. From my understanding that does seem to be the intent and design of the rule. To be perfectly honest if I was playing with someone who insisted that he could target characters with that then that would likely be a respectful end to the game. I do understand the other side as well by following strict <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(110);'>RAI</span>, but even then I would think that is debatable in of itself. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thanks for the replies all, does seem like another hot topic of debate this rule.  <br /> <br /> It did seem a little <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span> that once i killed 8 of his marines in that fight phase, my lord then received a blastmaster shot and 21 sonic blaster shots!  I'm not bitter as the rest of the game was pretty awesome and the guy was fun to play against.<br /> <br /> However as people have pointed out, it does seem like something that needs an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(36);'>FAQ</span> or errata to clarify as I also run a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(32);'>EC</span> army and haven't read the rules that I could do that.]]></description>

The fact they have not fixed something doesn't mean it's intended to work that way.<br /> <br /> Part of the reason I don't play Noise Marines often is I am sick of arguing about MOTA and characters.
