The starting point. A shiny, newly constructed container. I love these kits.




The tools. Boiling water, a suitable receptacle, some tongs to keep the floaty plastic thing submerged in the boiling water. And a hammer.


The method. Submerge in water, take out of water. Let internal water drain. Hit repeatedly.


Preliminary results. It worked ok first time round. I was hoping to cave one side in a bit with the hammer but I think I had the container cooling for too long while it drained so the plastic had hardened again by the time I hit it. Regardless you get a rather nice warped effect just from the heating and cooling.




Second chance. So I glued it back together a bit and the submerged it in newly boiled water. Because the kit was rather less well fitting this time around by managed to get a decent swing at softened plastic so got a bit more of s dent. However the whole container rapidly disintegrated this time around. However that let me take one piece at a time to do some individual and detailed abuse to get a bucket and abused looking result. I'm just waiting for the bits to dry and cool before glueung it all back together one last time.




Result. I'm happy and I think I've got a nice unique terrain piece that I can paint quickly in a rusty and knackered format.

Work.has been spot recently but no finally managed an hour to glue the everything flippety flip out of the wreckage.

It's all so buckled that even with superglue gel I had to reinforce the joins with some putty hidden in the top.

Sprayed the inside black before assembling so you can't see anything through the gaps.








Next s5eps are to gouge out the servoskull locking mechanisms.and replace with some scraggly wires and bits of scrap to make it look like the skulls exploded or were torn out for parts. Fun fun fun
