Question about paint stripper and old models

So I just got an original Tyranid Zoanthrope - funny I remember them being a lot bigger the first time I saw them, but as that was probably more than 15 years ago and I was smaller then too chances are I've just gotten bigger.

Still there's a bit of paint still on it and whilst its been cleaned off well already I think one more dip should get more off. I use Dettol for the stripping and just want to confirm that the older lead-based models are still safe to leave in it for extended periods. I know that white metal can basically be left in it "forever" without problems, but that resins and plastics deteriorate (at varying speeds).

It will melt plastic if you leave them soaking in it, but you can use it to clean the dettol paint gunk off with an old toothbrush, then clean that off with soapy water and it's fine.
