I wonder how it would impact codex sales?

I know I wont buy a Guard codex for my 1.5K army of guard that joins my Marines...but I would by the datacards like I bought the Strategems/Psychics deck.

if you mean like the AoS ones I'd be in for that like a shot, especially if they were reprinted each year with the errata & FAQ changes included, in a pack with any strategem cards that had changed (or all of them).

cards clearly marked with a date, coloured border etc so you know at a glance what the current ones are.

put the point values on them.

Sleeving unit cards lets you write on them with erasable marker, which is a good way to track wound counts during a game, along with stuff like psychic powers affecting a unit. Dice are always getting knocked over or picked up.

I actually made a bunch of data cards for my tyranids around the start of the edition. Never got around to updating them once the codex dropped though. they're batting .333 not bad but...

it would be a really easy way to track wounds, psychic powers, etc. they should just take the rules and separate them from the fluff. Well.
