I use my Dremel mostly for pinning. If you plan to do this, I highly suggest finding titanium coated drill bits for metal. The carbon coated are fine for plastic, but heat up and quickly become brittle when drilling metal. I use 1/32 bits (they are hard to find) for small models and 1/16 for larger models such as WarMachine Warjacks and metal vehicles.

I use the cutting wheels for resin and large plastic. The size of the wheel depends on what you want to cut. Here are some options:

http://www.dremel.com/en-us/attachments-and-accessories/attachment-accessory-group.htm?H=188549&G=66367

i plan on using it mainly for removing limbs and heads, so i guess its more cutting and grinding then drilling, i prefer using my pin vice for drilling as it offers a slight bit more control
millest

i would (and do) use a jewelers saw. i don't think i could afford to try to use a dremel to cut/grind.

but make sure you wear a mask if you're grinding resin!

RE: dremel attachment advice and techniques request

The standard 'cut-off wheels' that come with a dremel are WAY too thick for modeling - you'll be losing a millimeter of material. I used one to cut off my Dreadnought's arm posts for magneting, and I was shocked at how thick the cut was. No way am I using that on an infantry model.

I've been told to get ultra-thin cutoff wheels (Fordham brand, I think) from a jeweler's store...but maybe I'll pick up a jeweler's saw as well for more control.
