These wouldnt be glowing, so what should they look like? Burnished metal? A copper color? A smokey grey? A lower, darker tone than the "live" coil?
I'm probably going with a green or a blue plasma coil.

For now I have always painted it as glowing object, considering that it is more transparent hollow tube like thing. But maybe it's totaly opposite of it, and the coils should be metal of some kind. Even official graphics presenting this type of guns that they are made from metal.

But maybe I'm totaly wrong, could anyone clear this up for us? I think we need some loremaster help here to judge
