For the blue, I am simply going to do VGC Ultramarine Blue, which is that old school blue color. I will mix it with VMC Sky Grey to get the lighter tones. Metals are straightforward too. VMC Gunmetal Gray for the undercarriage washed with Citadel Nuln Oil (which produces a metallic black) and drybrushed VMC Silver. VMC Silver and VMC Brass for the metal lining the pauldrons.

But I am not sure how I should approach the white and yellow. I have never painted anything white nor yellow, much less both. I've only used VMC Foundation white for lens glare and highlight lines; great stuff if you just want a strong white, but I don't think I want to paint any surfaces with it given how thick it is.

My thinking is this:
1) Prime black; this is for the sake of the metallics
2) Base coat everything in VMC Sky Grey
3) For the yellow portion, layer VMC Buff, then layer VMC Flat Yellow
4) For the white portion, layer 1:1 VMC White Grey and VMC Sky Grey, then layer VMC White Grey; paint VMC Vermilion directly on top of this for the stripes (and hope my hand is steady)

Does this plan sound good? Should I use White instead of White Grey? white depends if you want a warm or cool white, with the blue I;d go cool, VMC London Grey base, Sky Grey over, Dead white to act as the final layer

So Sky Grey then Desert Yellow then Flat Yellow?

I will get the Dead White.

Is how I'm doing the blue okay?
