Vallejo Bloody Red - Why so glossy?

Apologies if this has been covered before.

When I use Vallejo Bloody Red, it paints on REALLY glossy. Like, Liberace wasn't this shiny. It takes two coats of matte medium to dull it down. This has happened with multiple bottles, and all I use to thin it down is water (no Future Floor Wax or anything like that). Is there something I could be doing to affect this, or is it just that shiny?

Thanks!

Bloody Red is a normal Game Color paint. The blood effect is only available in the Special Effects Set.
