As I'll be here until August, and after that probably an equally small place, I figured investing in a mask or respirator of some kind is pretty smart. I dont know a thing about them so hoping good folks of Dakka could suggest some stuff.

- Cheap (Under £25 ideally, willing to go £40)
- Amazon or other common UK retailer
- Low maintenance (no need to constantly replace filters)
- Doesnt need to be heavy duty - only to keep dettol fumes and spray paint out me lung.

You can get different filter cartridges that lock to the sides of the face. The silicone “cup” is very comfortable for hours of use at a time. Filters last for about 40 hours of use, and are inexpensive to replace.

I use this model at work, when I prime steel parts. The primer is notably strong smelling, and I don’t notice the smell while I’m working. Air flow is excellent. The exhaust air goes downwards, away from my glasses, which is so useful I can’t express in words.

It is shockingly comfortable and effective. They come in small, medium and large. I’ve got a fat head so I went with large. It’s perfect for spraying paint.
