IMO if you've already started the army using the 'traditional' system you should keep with it.

I have an Iyanden Eldar army that I started years ago and left it with two units unpainted; a wraith lord and some wraith blades. This weekend I decided to finish these using the new Contrast paints. The combination of high detail, and small flat surfaces appears to be perfect for the contrast paints.
