What about the really ancient 2nd edition Carnifex? Yeah that dates back to when "40mm" was for the "large" monsters.

Now it's a small monster, while GW have gone all "medium, large and hold my beer" sizes for monsters, too.

left is a 3rd Ed Fex, its converted and bit more upright than usual. Middle Hiveguard (Tyrantguard is a bit bulkier), right: todays Fex ( the newer kits have a bigger oval base)
