Using new AoS skeleton as CTan

This guy seems to be on its way to AoS.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nova-Aug29-AoS-Models55ytg.jpg

And it struck me as having some Necron aestethics to it, especially the shape of the head.

Are there ways it could be necronified further and used as an alternative Transcendent Ctan?

It's a great looking model and arguably could be played on its own, but if there are some simple obvious things that could be done to it, it'd be nice too. Don't know the size of it though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Or Orikan empowered?

No idea what exact size this model will have, but that conspicuously empty space on his chest could be filled with the Necron glyph taken from a spare torso.

Other than that I don't know if you need to Necronify it further. C'tan don't share Necron visuals much and can take any shape they like. A fitting paint job is all it takes, really.

Maybe you could fill the runes on the scythe as those are not in style with Necron writing.

If you want to tie it in more without doing anything to the model itself, consider using spare broken Warrior parts from the Doomsday Ark as base decoration. Maybe mixed with other bits to make a damaged Warrior that's reanimating in the presence of the C'tan.

Yeah, basing is always nice. Primarily I wanted to make it clearly distinct from the AoS model, but it certainly has a lot of metallic mechanic feel to it already

But that is likely a 32mm base, suggesting its just a bit too small, or it should be lifted up in the air a bit, floating, which might be doable.

Would be nice to put something else in his hands, though don't know what that should be. flames? lightning? Some other necron'y close combat weapon that doesn't resemble the Nightbringer's scythe too much.

I think it would be to small. But if you can 'prorp' him up it will help. All the C'tan models are slightly bigger then regular models, but they are quite 'frail' with a lot of cloth running around.

I would instead use the model with the two swords. It is more of a tyranid warrior size I think and would make a great C'tan.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nova-Aug29-AoS-Models4rgfd.jpg

The king model would also be cool if you can asembel him without everything else and he is big enough.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Nova-Aug29-AoS-Models4htd.jpg

Re:Using new AoS skeleton as CTan

Yeah, if this guy is normal dude size you could use Spirit Hosts to make swirly crap for him to hold him aloft and make him appear larger. Provided you want to go with the life force eating aesthetic.

An easy way to add mechanical bits is to buff up the spine the same way as Immortals. That will only help with the back, though. But like I said, I don't consider the absence of mechanical parts a problem with a C'tan so for me going light on these elements wouldn't be an issue.

I once converted (but new fully finished) a Deceiver to hold a sword and shield from Lychguard. They are decently sized for a stock C'tan. So if you want to replace the scythe, why not go with a warscythe? If you want to keep the flask sucking in the spirit, you even have the Overlord's scythe to keep the shape the bone wizard comes stock with.

If you don't want to keep the flask in his left hand, maybe he could release a swarm of Scarabs? Regular ones might be a bit big for that, but if you can get some from the Tesseract Vault, they come in two conveniently small sizes.

Some of the faces has a little Deceiveresk look to them. Would probably skip the lower pair of hands and perhaps the cloak/cloth and add bits to make them distinct. Those overly bony details on the chest and perhaps the lower legs would be nice to change, though no ideas come to mind
