Question on painting slashed throats (Corvus Cabal)

Hello fellow painters.

So I'm painting the Corvus cabal right now and I was wondering if anyone here has any tips on how to paint their seemingly slashed throats. I'd like to know what paints I should use and how I should do it. I've been painting for some years now but I'm no pro painter.

I use GW paints and Vallejo paints as those two brands are the easiest for me to get more of.

Thanks in advance!

The gw paint jobs look like they're just been very carefully freehanded using dark reds. What I'd do is glaze some dark red in a streak downwards from the cut, then use a fine brush to freehand the darker streaks using dark reddy browns (dried blood) and darkish reds(fresh blood)
