Do you want a really bright shiny look or a really dark dingy look? Shade them with Nuln Oil and/or Aggarax to make them look darker and dirtier. Drybrush them with a lighter metal color for shinier look depending on your painting skill.

My biggest issue with Leadbelcher spray is cost. It's $20 American per can, I use a bright Rustoleum aluminium primer now for metals which I shade down with GW contrast paints and shades.
