Great unclean one/Rotigus justifiable?

Howdy!
I really love the Guo model and want to get one for my Purge/DG/Daemons soup of an army. From my understanding though greater daemons are not in a good place in 40k at the moment, and as much as i love the model I don't want to get a model that will just collect dust on a shelf. Can someone justify why Rotigus or the Guo would have a place on the battlefield?
Personally I have about 45% Death Guard, 45% CSM and 10% nurgle daemons, so using the bell to revive daemons would be pointless for me atleast

I love rotigus and if your opponent is stupid enough to allow him to get close he will destroy almost anything. But he will never get close enough he is to slow and even deep striking he will be out of range to shoot on the turn he lands. He can still cast and charge charge but if you fail the charge he is dead next turn

If you have Myphitic Blight Haulers, GUO with Bell can resurrect them. I wouldn't do it in a tournament, but playing that combo and another big guy like a Knight or Mortarion (so they have to choose between them and the GUO) would be fun and pretty strong in a casual setting. It leaves little room for infantry (to go with the Myphitic Blight Haulers), but I like MBHs even without them - I shoot with them until they're in charge range, they do pretty good with their CHOMPS.

Great unclean one/Rotigus justifiable?

The problem with the GUO (and rotigus) is the same problem all the greater daemons face. They are a large dangerous model that you'll never be able to hide from the enemy and they are just not tough to kill.

This means that most opponents will just blow them off the board during their first turn, the GUO is really squishy with a 5++/5+++ he'll go down to focused fire from anything.

Compounding the issue they are also alot slower than the other greater daemons meaning even if you go first the enemy will have plenty of time to deal with them.

It is a great model though so here's my beat bet to getting use out of one. High threat target saturation, bring him with Morty, a couple of damon princes, plague drones and crawlers. Most of that is more threatening than a GUO meaning they will struggle for options having to kill a load of hard targets.

Re:Great unclean one/Rotigus justifiable?

Hmm, well I do have a somewhat "assaulty" army with bloat drones, maulerfiend, DP, Rhino rush, bikes, spawns and so on that would put the preassure on my opponent. So perhapps Rotigus could advance and cast a few pshycic powers and hoppefully be able to assault something turn 2. Or at least wreck havox around the middle of the field.
But still, it's alot of points for a single model. Can't help woundering of those points are better spent on lets say a PBC and another DP or something.
Gues I'll just have to wait and see what CA-19 brings to the table.
Thanks for the response guys
