Size differences for minis on the table

Hi all...opinion time. Before I start working on some custom minis....in your opinion what is the maximum differences in height that you think is acceptable on the table? For comparison the average height of various minis that I have are:

40K Sister of Battle 30mm compared to Toughest Girls in the Galaxy 32mm
Princess Leia (WOTC) 32mm compared to Star Wars Storm Trooper (WOTC) 37mm compared to FFG Death Trooper 42mm
40K Space Marine 33mm compared to 40K Space Marine Terminator 37mm compared to 40K Primaris Space Marine 38mm compared to 40K True Scale Space Marine 44mm
HeroClix Spartans 40mm compared to Mega Construx HALO figures 50mm

So, the question is how much variation in height do you think looks OK on the table? Is there any issue with an opponent using True Scale marines while you have old school tactical marines (a difference of up to 11mm) for the same type of unit? Would it be weird if they had a squad of old marines and a squad of True Scale marines?

Does it not look weird if the Primaris are bigger than Terminators?

Anyway, what is the biggest difference in scale that you find acceptable?

-STS

edit: I know that there are different sizes and scale creep from Rogue Trader days till now...the question is what "looks acceptable" when they are on the same table.

I play RTB-01 Beakies next to my Primaris. I will Honor the haggard veterans of my Salamanders for as long as I see fit & I'm not planning on stopping.

Whatever looks good to you is the most important thing, who gives a flyin feth what some random people on the internet tell you to do.

Re:Size differences for minis on the table

I don't have hard and fast rules for my own models. I tend to like models that stay within half a head to a head in height to whatever I think of as the standard. In the 28mm to 32mm range that should account for the size difference most people will fall into, so I can live with that. I'm not opposed to having someone in my army that's taller or shorter than that, but it's not something I go out of my way to include or highlight.

To me the more important thing is that the models in the army share similar proportions and matching style. A realistically sculpted model does me no good in a GW army where the heads, hands, feet, weapons and what have you are twice the size of that model. Likewise, GW models has no place in my Fallout Wasteland Warfare collection because the latter are sculpted to realistic standards and the former are by comparison grotesquely disproportioned. Yet by height alone this wouldn't be a problem as humans from both lines stand similarly tall.

I'm not one to be bothered by what I see on the other side of the table, for the most part. I've pitted modern models against Rogue Trader models and all manner of third party models. At arm's length the size difference between these becomes a non-issue to me. I'd like to see effort put into models and I'd like to see them fit into the setting, but I'm not going to tell anyone what they should do with their models. That's none of my business really and minimal differences in size aren't even close to what it would take for me to decline a game based on having any visual experience ruined.
