Ferrus was one of the earliest primarchs to be rediscovered (the third, after Horus and Russ, IIRC), so the Tenth Legion wasn't the Storm Walkers for very long anyway. I also just can't imagine Ferrus would bother having his men completely change their livery to honour him - he strikes me as being both too pragmatic/businesslike and too humble.
