So I've been building some FW stuff recently, only I've found that applying the araldite has been a real pain in the arse. I've been using cardboard strips and just kinda lathering it on, but this just seems like a generally sub-par method, as it makes a real mess and is really inefficient. The trick with 5 minute araldite is use the first minute purely for mixing, then wait a couple more minutes before applying so that when you've ready to clamp it together it's just about to go off.

Araldite + pins makes for a really good joint even on heavy metal parts.

The only real downside I've had with araldite is you can only really do one joint at a time, so it takes a long time to glue together a big complex model.
