My question is where do I find skeleton miniatures? I know GW of course, and Mantic both make them. I've heard Wargames Atlantic makes some Greek themed ones, but I'm not aware of any others.

They were originally made by Wargames Factory and are Greek-themed like Wargames Atlantic (although the theme is more pronounced in the Wargames Atlantic set).

As to best? My skellies are all old GW ones from about 2nd ed WHFB, so I have not built any of the newer ones. IIRC, I read somewhere about the Wargames Factory/Warlord having some fiddly business with the legs. Perhaps some one who has actually built them could say.

Decent variety in the kit, not terribly fiddly to assemble, a nice balance of visible bone and cloth/armor to color and theme, and they're actually skinnier than a human covered with flesh, which many other companies' offerings are not. Good bang for your buck, too... at least, they were when I bought them. I've heard they've raised prices, but I thought that was primarily for newer sculpts/kits. For me I definetly prefered the warlord games ones.

The new GW ones are nicer sculpts, but they're very busy. They've got robes and details all over the. When I was doing my undead army, in was mainly a skeleton army and I was wanting over 200. So i think my painting mojo would have died.

The old GW ones are still a good go to skeleton. They are larger than most people would like. Raised from a tribe of 7ft tall warriors. The lack of details and ease of construction is what drew me in for these.

The warlord games ones are far more time consuming in construction. Everything needs gluing together. Which I won't lie was a bit of a drag by the time i had finished. However, once you've set up an assembly line it was relatively painless. The sculpts are nice, and if you don't want them to be greek themed you don't have to use the weapons and shields provided.

Maybe there's some inspiration on my Blog which would help you as I've got lots of pictures of both the GW old and the warlord figures.
