6mm vs 8mm is apparently a big change plus the AT18 knights are overall more "beefy".

Aha, thank you! Looks like the difference is a bit too much to be easily overcome. The one in the pic looks like the plastic Paladin. If I recall correctly, the metal ones are slightly chunkier, but not as tall as the Lancer standing next to the Paladin there. I think I will base my Paladins on 32mm bases with a bit of extra elevation just for good measure.
