Tracking the process of relearning to paint

For a while now I've been slowly starting to take up painting and modelling again, but now that I find myself locked inside, I finally have the time to make some work of it. The break that I've taken has been close to a decade, so I fear that any sort of skill I might ever have had is more than gone by now. That however is no excuse not to learn or to share it (if only as a further motivation).

I plan to be painting/working on all sorts of things. One large part will be minis for use in Dungeons and Dragons, but I will also be working on rebuilding the servants of the blood god and the planned rebooting of my Imperial Guard.

So, I hope you will enjoy!

Cult Leader

Chaos Warrior

Mage

Tracking the process of relearning to paint

Holy moly that's a lot of army men!

Great job on them; the shields look super neat and as a group they are consistent and imposing. I'd be proud of smashing out a force like that!

I am a big fan of some of these old school minis, too.

I have had my eye on that half-orc merchant mini for a while, I love the colours that you've thrown down on him. He could maybe do with a thinned down brown wash over everything to bring back some depth if you feel like playing around with him again!

Excited to see where you take this. I am a recent returner to the hobby too (well - few years now but still...) and have blogged pretty much my entire work since then on dakka. It is nice to look back and see how your ideas shape up and turn out in the end!

Good luck
