Painting GSC with different skinn pigments?

Do you have any examples of painting GSC with different skin pigments?

Tyranids do not have variation in skin tone because of the backround setting. This aplies to Gene Stealers. However, most GSC are hybrids of the host species and the genstealer.

3rd and 4th generation GSC could have different skin pigments based on the hos spieces. How would you paint skins in different tones?

My genstealers are Bleached bone with reikland fleshshade wash and dryrushing with palid wytch flesh. So a brown to white skintone.

But how should I do it on 3rd and 4th generations if I want the local population to have a warried skin tone?

I would like to get some advice. Here was a video I found based on differnet skin tones:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhDgNiEiYXI

Painting GSC with different skinn pigments?

Hi Niiai,

I recall there being an excellent blog Confessions of a 40k addict with some spiffing GSC cultists with more natural (and some alien!) skin tones:

Sadly I'm too lazy for that - my GSC skin tone is fenrisian grey dry-brushed over The Fang - occasionally washed in the recesses with Drakenhof Nightshade. My cult are the undertakers on an Imperial Crypt planet, far from the nearest star - so they're all pretty pale and Vitamin D- deficient!

Painting GSC with different skinn pigments?

Well thank you. This might be more for the background section of the 40K forum. But second generations should probably be in the original skin tone. But it would not cost me to much time to do 4th generation in different skinn tones. I am batchpainting 30 neophytes now, and have done 10 before.

I could just pick out 4 skin tone schemes and paint 10 models in it for 4th generation.

What I am worried about is how I should do 3rd generation hybrid skin tones.

Painting GSC with different skinn pigments?

I think you could get away with either: doing your 3rd gen hybrids with the same recipe for your genestealers, or lumping them in with the 4th gen hybrids for normal-ish pigmentation. Why not a mix of both?

Painting GSC with different skinn pigments?

When I had my GSC I did all the 3rd and 4th gen hybrids with different skin tones. Ranging from regular human flesh (usually on those most human, but sometimes on the freakier ones too for effect) up to almost regular GS pale purple flesh. I can't really advise you on how to do it, as I just painted each one individually, in a time consuming way.
