DIY gaming table with removable dice boxes

Needed to take a break from painting my golden bananaboys so I turned my attention to terrain building and a bit of woodworking for the time being. I am in the process of building a gaming table for me and my buddies for several months now and I thought I'd share.

Before anyone asks: the table is made from a mdf plade with some xps foam on top, which is also what I've used the model the rough shapes of the terrain. Then I took a lot of time and took some woodland scenics rock moulds and cast a fuckton of rocks out of modelling plaster. I glued those onto my terrain and blended it in with some modelling compound. This is where I am at now, I still need to put some sand and small rocks in all the nooks an crannies and paint it.
All the terrain you see on the pictures is fixes, but the table has a large are in the middle of modular terrain.
I've also built a contraption underneath the tabletop that can slide on and off the folding table on which the mdf plate is currently mounted on, so the tabletop can be completely removed and stored.

The dice boxes is made from spruce from my local hardware store and I've gone through the trouble of marking each with a faction symbol, so everyone of us has his "own" dice box fitting for their army. They mount on the side of the table, are removable and interchangable. So you can mount every box on every slot.

The statues are from GW and I incoorporated them into the mountainside, which is quite cool I think.

C&C welcome.

Edit: of course this still needs some ground scatter and I still need to paint the whole thing....

I am neither a native speaker nor a woodworker so I will not attempt to explain how the mounting works because I lack the proper vocabulary. I hope the picture is self explanatory:

The picture explains it perfectly, and that is a great idea. Table looks good. I also find the statues cool integrated into the mountain. Thanks for sharing. Some inspiration to be found here, and I hope you continue showing us as you go.
