GSC clothing wrapping?

Hi.

The GSC humans have some cloth wrapped around their leg and their guns. I tryed to paint it leather, but it just looks weard. What is it? Is it a practical piece of clothing? What colour do you paint it?

GSC clothing wrapping?

There aren't any rules friend. Paint it whatever colour you think is best? I usually paint those sort of things as a beige cloth, like a bandage or something, but it depends on the look you want and your colour scheme.

Sometimes I paint them as bandages/cloth wrap (particularly the ones wrapped around the guns), but most of the armbands I paint in the spot colour for the army, as if they’re field sign (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_sign)

Re:GSC clothing wrapping?

Sorry, Niall, wish I had a better explanation or answer. I painted mine in the colors of the GSC I made, as if they had taken bandannas or the like to wear as "gang" colors etc. In my case I used an orange and red base scheme, so contrasted the cloth parts I believe you're talking about in a dark blue/purple. You could also look at them as similar to WWI style Putty wraps, although you already said the leather style didn't help. My GSC are boxed and I can't seem to find any current picture. Letting you down here, but that's the best I have.

Re:GSC clothing wrapping?

I have no finished GSC modell so I can not show you how mine looks.

I also figured using the arm bandages for squad markings. Yellow in my case. Most GW GSC model exanples have the ragged parts of clothing in the cult colours. So it is not so hard to cobclude with.

How ever, the tape on the guns are probably not in that same colour. And doing the leggings in those colours turned out bad.

The only sources I have seen with such wrappings is Luke Skywalker and British WW2 grunts. I do not know if that is what the GSC have and I have a hard time finding the right colour.

Your guys look great! I just don't know what to say about the gun wrappings. You always seem to have some good, friendly advice to offer too. Wish I had some. I'm staring at a few of my unpainted GSC and not getting any new ideas.

I think for your scheme a dark-ish red would look really nice as a spot colour, for contrast. So that's probably what I'd do for the wrappings.

Well thank you. I did not know I had friendly advice, it is always good to hear that I am nicer then I asume.

A darkish red might work. I did try a brown red and it did not work so well. My teqnice was perhaps a bit flawed. But a dark muted colour could work.
