Fun with Wargames Atlantic kits

Hello everyone, and welcome to the blog.

It is the intention of this blog to be a fun way to show off various conversions and troops i create using Wargames Atlantic products.

As some of you may know, I am a facebook group moderator and general community Liason for Wargames Atlantic (WGA.) WGA is a new and growing plastics manufacturer, focusing in 28mm kits.

I myself also love kitbashing and general conversion. Its about an equal love to painting, but i do enjoy the puzzle and build phase of miniatures.

At the time of this writing, we have just released 19th century afghan warriors, dark age irish, and ancient persians worldwide. My personal order of these boxes is in the post. I have quite a few different conversions planned using the figures, so i figured a blog would be a good idea.

But why post now, when I am still waiting on the shipment? Well, I have conversions i have done with WGA's previous boxed sets, and I figured i would show them off.

The majority of any sci fi offerings will be bent to use in my imperial army/collection for warhammer 40,000.

First, some conversions of the Grognards plastic kit:

Yes, that last one is an assassins creed assassin. I like to experiment and i had just completed a run through of Assassins creed syndicate when the Grognards arrived on my doorstep.

Next up, I've done several conversions of the Raumjager, but Tallarn are my favorite. These were made by removing the collar from the raumjager torso's and adding on a 3D printed head. I intend to diversify the heads with various ones from the afghan set when they arrive.

and yes, that sergeant is holding a bolter one handed. Rule of cool, yo.

On the Fantasy side, I've used the skeleton kit to expand my undead legions. I had spare black knight horses that i combined with the 1 skeleton per sprue that is in parts, to make cavalry. I also converted the heads on those to have a crest running down the back of the helm, rather than transverse.

I would welcome any commentary from any person. I enjoy making banter about minis.

Furthermore, if you have any questions about WGA, please feel free to ask and i will answer to the best of my abillity.

AlthoughI would never discount war games Atlantic working on some skeleton horses at some point in the future.

The head on the assassin is actually from the old old old games workshop Glade guard kit. I had a sprue laying about and inspiration struck.

Tonight's conversions:

More Persian conversions and three middle Eastern or Persian levy made from the dark age Irish box and Persian heads and weapons. They were a reclusive folk, dark-haired but smaller in stature than the Bëorians or the Hadorians. They kept separate from the other Men. Their language was different from the ones that used by the other Edain.

It is possible that the rivalry between the primitive Dunlendings and the blond-haired, pseudo-Anglo-Saxon Rohirrim who migrated into the lands neighboring them was meant by Tolkien to be analagous to the real life conflicts that arose between the Anglo-Saxons in England and neighboring Celtic peoples.

This is supported by the fact that placenames of Bree-land like Bree, Archet and Combe are Celtic. The Stoor Hobbits (who had stayed long in Dunland), have Celtic elements in their names. Tolkien mentioned that the survival of traces of the older language of the Stoors and the Bree-men resembled the survival of Celtic elements in England.

JoshInJapan wrote:You have some really interesting models in this thread.
