Tac Squads vs Intercessors thread, but not wanting to resurrect that thread per se, I'd like to say a big thanks to all who contributed. So, my follow up (narrow) question from that thread is this: what are people's experience using a tactical squad with storm bolter and heavy bolter (72 points) compared to intercessors?

Background is I am trying to save some points, so wondering how that squad would work compared to intercessors. My thoughts were every back-line objective holding / keeping my thunderfire cannon screened from deep striking, or putting them forward as anti-infantry/horde as I would intercessors.

If you're really looking to save points though, think about Scouts. I don't think Heavy Bolters are ever worth it for Tacs. At the moment I'd recomend a Plasma Cannon for backfield work. It's only 4 points more than the HB and Storm Bolter, and it's more threatening.
