Probably, unless they release more Kill Zone boxes or the boards separately for a reasonable prince.

If you want to blame anyone for "forcing" people to change sizes, blame them. They have no reason to cut down a 6'x4' board when it fits around the minimum size just fine. Hold the TOs to account for their completely self-imposed changes.

GW are the Apple of wargaming. This change of board size is like removing a headphone jack.
You can't still plug in an old headphone jack. You can still play on a 6'x4'.
Your analogy is more like "this change of board size is like adding bluetooth for wireless earphones" - you can still do all the old ones, but there will also be people doing the new stuff.

But it is not the way GW tested the game to be optimal though. that is like saying that in 8th, if you want you can play 500pts games. And it is true you can do that, but those games are not going to be very fun. Saying that it is a 3ed party thing that tables are 6x4 is a stranger counter argument too. From what I have been told the tables were that size for multiple editions. GW being suprised that people may not want to change the size of tables is a bit too faced. Perhaps - but it's easier to just mark off table areas than add terrain you might not have. People don't need to hack apart their old tables.

GW haven't asked anyone to change their table size. It's the push from TOURNAMENT players who see "minimum" as "only appropriate option" that's leading to more people change their table size. GW have explicitly said that you don't have to change table size, so it's not two-faced.
Though GW does seem to be suprised by many things including their own rules being put to use by players other then their play testers.
It's not hard to see that, considering that GW staff tend to be very casual and "un-optimised" - there are things that some players do that they'd never consider doing. Spamming isn't really a word in their vocabulary, because they don't really consider spamming their own armies.

You're right that it will become standard in public play- in stores and tournaments. You're also right that it's happening already.

But I think the disconnect in this argument is similar to the disconnect in many; there are way more home/ garage hammer players than Dakka gives credit for, and to that crew, this change means nothing. Nothing that happens in tournaments and stores affects us. Since we only play with friends on 6 x 4 boards some of us created in the 80's, we're not even going to notice.

Well that is good for people in countries where games are being played at homes, or who have , for what ever reasons,underground garages where no one calls police or security on you, if you stay for too long. It sound bad for places where playing at stores is what the majority of people do. The stores aren't being forced to change though. If your local store changes their table size, that was their choice, not someone from GW coming round and demanding it.

If tournaments and stores change their sizes, that was *their* choice.
