Painting Re-entry Marks on an Inceptor

I have tried to imagine how an Inceptor would jump from space to the battlefield and what state his gear would be in. I can’t imagine the assault bolter would appreciate the heat so I think the body would have to protect it. I don’t imagine head first would be smart or allow for protecting the weapon. In my head they would have to go back first with the war gear keeping them on track until they would be able to turn around. I guess in my head the dude is holding the bolters across his chest kinda like an ancient Egyptian burial.

Now for the painting... this would have to be murder for the armor’s paint job so I think heavy chipping and even bare ceramite would have to be the norm. So maybe airbrush scorch marks from one side and outline the marks with paint chips? The helmets would be untouched because they have that welder mask looking bit to cover it.

Other than me obviously trying to rationalize 40K in the real world, what do you all think?
