Got a friend who used to play with me 20 years ago....he has gone out and bought an army on the back of us going to Warhammer world before lockdown.

I got back into 40k 10 months ago...painted loads then just learnt the rules before 9th announced.

Regards our first games....I am struggling to get my head round the new points/objective system. Do you think it would be wise(would it work ok) to play 9th Edition but with 8th Edition Objective Cards etc instead of the 9th secondaries etc?

I feel it was A a better system and B easier for me to introduce him with as I know it better.

So no actual confilict using the 8th VP rules in 9th? didnt know if something might make them unworkable for example.

Nope. Mechanically missions and rules are　separate. Only thing　is rules for actions are left unused but so what.

I doubt there would be issue mechanically digging　up scenarios from 3rd edition for that matter.
