White/Gold/Purple Paint Scheme

Thinking of painting a KO army with a predominantly white color scheme with gold and purple accents. What I'm using for inspiration is actually a football uniform that I recently saw (LSU tigers). They were wearing non-classic all-white uniforms with purple and gold being secondary colors. Being fairly new to miniature painting, I'm wondering if there are any concerns with this color scheme that I am not thinking about. As always, any advice is welcome.

The only real issue is that white can be a difficult color to paint well. Apparently contrast paints can help, but I don't have any experience personally.

Good scheme, though!

White/Gold/Purple Paint Scheme

White is a hard colour to paint, especially when starting out, so you'd want to research what way you want to paint the white. Do you want to go down the contrast route? Or do you want to go with traditional methods in achieving the scheme?

Other than that, the scheme is good and could be used on numerous types of minis.

Re:White/Gold/Purple Paint Scheme

I tried using that same color scheme for my Post-Human Republic units in Dropzone Commander, which is 10mm sci-fi. At least that size, all you could see was white, and a touch of gold, so it looked like they were unpainted. So that might be a concern. Recently I painted a single Basilean Sisterhood Scout, but I used majority purple with white and gold as trim, and that worked better. Also she's 28mm.

As for contrast paints, I have only used one, and that's Talassar Blue, so I can't help you there.

Very odd in this place, I know. But that said, I have several videos on the subject of white and purple.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvLuFonzhD6rqnYiOfQXTVnszb50w_9Jq

As for the Apothecary White? It's Ok. Not great, but not bad if you want it done really quick.
I've painted this scheme myself on my Cephalyx, although without the gold.

White/Gold/Purple Paint Scheme

White isn't quite the boogy-monster it's often made out to be. Yes, it's one of the less forgiving colours, but a lot of that has to do with a poor white paint and a lack of understanding of how to work with light colours.

There's a ton of great tutorials out there, but the two big things that changed white for me was avoiding shading it with grey, and using airbrush paint white. I have Createx opaque on my rack but imagine most airbrush whites are equally nice and smooth.

White can be shaded with almost *any* pastel colour. Cream, blue, yellows, pale olive-brown, pink - they all look dramatically different. Greys end up making most white models look dirty; fine if that's what you're after, but for a purple/gold scheme I'd go straight to shading with a khaki or cream. Warm colours will complement the gold and royal purple far better than grey. If you do want to go with a cold white, a bluish-purple shade will also work - can even see some of that reflected in the upper parts of the uniform in your picture, on the curves of the shoulders.
