I’m still new to the actual wargame part and I really want to do am imperial army that isn’t space marines. I don’t like the Cadian models so much and have always loved the death korps. But the prices for units are ridiculous on eBay and a very large portion are either out of stock on forgeworld or no longer available. Are they going to be phasing out this army? To answer your first question, sadly yes, it does seem Forgeworld is slowly phasing out the death korps and pivoting from providing supplemental expensive models for 40k to providing supplemental models for specialist games.

The bright side is, because the demand is there, there are a lot of 3d printing and 3rd party models that are, let's say, trenchcoat and gasmask wearing space soldiers with pointy hats, if you're not plyaing somewhere that's a hyper-stickler for official gw sculpts.

I do think speculation on cadian models is mostly going to be based on them being extremely old. There have been a couple images on the rumor engine recently that *could* be guard stuff, maybe? You do realize that if you do buy DK, & FW eventually phases them out, that they'll STILL be Imperial Guard (or Astra whatevertheF. they're called now).
