Yes, exactly. you can only field them in an army where you have a fortification, and their specialized primaris tractor cannons that belligerent carl based on ork tech and nobody has a problem with grabs enemy units and sucks them into the windows of the fortification.

This is a vital, new battlefield role that space marines up until now have not had any unit specializing in, so it's an exciting new frontier for the space marine range.

Plus you just have to buy SO MANY suits of power armor and accessories for the damn things - a Power-Jumper at birth, a power-onesie at 6 months, Despoiler-Class power-diapers daily, the indomitor-class teething pattern boltguns with the rubberized scopes, the Infant Cawl-seat, the Convertible Cawl-seat once they can hold their heads up (Ok, this is just an Invictor Warsuit, but they did have to resize the harnesses)

Giving a baby space marine anything to bite would be rather stupid, most have acid saliva, they would melt what ever they would be given in hours at best. If marines had babies, they would probably end up being hooked to a muscle tensing machine, with a VR helmet on, drugged out of the wazzon floating inside a vat till they become adult sized and ready for implantation of the organs that weren't fully developed. All broken up with mind scrubbing section, so the aspirant doesn't pick up any unwanted traits while growing up. A chapter that is unique in that it does not specialize primarily in combat bur rather is distributing vital supplies to the most vital imperial forces in a theater. They gather data quickly thru a large network of small, fast, stealthy ships, determine which imperial forces are the most vital at a given time, determine what supplies they need most, then see to it they receive them as quickly as possible.

While they are not meant to engage in combat they do so when necessary to achieve their goal, such as when their rapid strike delivery cruisers and logistical battle barges smash thru orbital defenses to deliver supplies to vital ground forces.

In one infamous incident they utterly annihilated a DKoK force who was using vast amounts of ordnance to shell a rebel hive city that had been utterly depopulated 3 years earlier so they could appropriate their hoarded ordnance and deliver it to an IG army fighting an enemy that was still very much an active threat, resulting in the destruction of an ork gargant force spearheading a until then successful conquest of a strategically vital imperial world.

The Distributors have also on occasion delivered cyclonic torpedo warheads and virus bombs to the surface of planets hopeless lost to tyranids.

Despite rarely engaging in actual combat the Distributors have generally improved the performance of imperial forces in theaters they operate in by 30-45%.

(Damn i meant this as a joke but it actually makes sense now that i look at it.)
