I'd probably not take him if I wasn't going to benefit from his ability with the relic banner (Wrath of Baal which is locked to the Ancient) to help me get those extra 2" movement on a multiple jump pack squads early in turns 1 and 2.

Good idea! I hadn't thought of doing that. I normally run a jump chaplain but just fly him around being a nuisance to the enemy and generally not doing much.
