I know, I know, I promised a long while ago to post pics of my completed elephant grass terrain tiles (see old thread in Painting & Modeling section) but I was lazy as hell. But 2022 will be a different year in that regard (yeah, fat chance for that to happen ). Anyway, lets take a look:

I even convinced a VIP to test out the elephant grass, if it is suitable for proper lurking (see pics).

Materials:
- Sand (not shown in pics)
- Ponal Wood glue (Holzleim)
- Tinting Colour (Abtönfarbe):
1. Brown
2. Dark Green
3. Green
4. Light Green
5. Bright Yellow
- Head of broom
- Styrofoam
- Lids from tobacco containers
- GW paints (Graveyard Earth and Bleached Bone)

Tools:
- Big Brush for drybrushing
- Small brush for drybrushing
- Scissors
- Tongs (flat)

Method:
1. Cut circular section out of styrofoam which will fit in lid from tobacco container.
2. Glue circular styrofoam INTO lid with wood glue.
3. Wait until glue dries.
4. Drill holes into glued styrofoam with a scissor.
5. Rip out a group of broom hairs FORCEFULLY with a tong.
6. Dip a group of broom hairs into wood glue and stick ´em into a drilled hole. Work from center to outer area.
7. Wait until glue dries.
8. Coat the entire surface of the styrofoam with wood glue.
9. Pour sand atop it.
10. Wait until glue dries.
11. Coat sand with tinting colour (Brown). Wait until paint dries.
12. Basecoat broom hairs with tinting colour (dark green). Wait until paint dries.
13. Drybrush broom hairs with tinting colours in the following order (1. Green, 2. Light green and 3. Yellow).
14. Drybrush sand with GW colours in the following order (1. Graveyard Earth and 2. Bleached Bone)
15. Done.
