My audience is family and friends. Casual playing so no one is going to care that some of the old models are retired now.

What are your recommendations as far as cheapest way to jump into 9th?

I was thinking get the Warhammer + app subscription. That gets me the data sheets for all the units in the game. And the core rules are already free. Then over time start buy the full rule book and the codex orks.

Am I missing something here? Because I remember when I bought 3rd edition I got an army list for every faction. Current core rule book doesn't have that right?

Best to just bite the bullet & buy the Rulebook + whatever Codex books you need.

And here I was actually convinced that the subscription was a good deal.

Now if they actually did offer a free codex or other rules unlock with subscription I wonder what that would so for their sales? Not to mention the good will it would incur?

Oh well that's just my wishful thinking. At least I can take solace in one thing. Codex orks=unlimited ork vs ork warfare in my home. I can live with that.
