Does anyone have any tips or experience with schemes like this? More monochromatic styles in general? Any tips, ideas, or pitfalls?

I was thinking of trying something similar with my kruleboyz but with black, green, and white. Just check out Marco for example. You can use two colors of spray paint and some dry brushing to make an easy army. Great examples in the video below on spray paints. Even does some marines at the end.




He also does a series on oil painting minis. Usually he completes very nice models in a couple of hours which, realistically, isn't something feasible here. But it's still a very fast painting method with results that are hard to argue with.

Here's one of his earlier videos before he went deep into youtube where he paints an ork in a sexy style very quickly using oils.




At the end of the day though, it's all dependant on how much effort and money you want to invest.
