AOS Warcry, but oldworld gothic?

Hey Dakkadakka,
Only time I've posted was 7 years ago under a different name and I haven't played a game in almost half as long, but the plastic crack calls to me once again.

Having neither the time nor money for a full army of any sorts, so a skirmish game of some kind would have to do. After playing a handful of games of warcry I fell in love with the flow and simplicty of the rule set. Having found my game, choosing a warband and aesthetic was next.

I knew straight away that the AOS aesthetic wasn't going to work for me. I always enjoyed the grim dark feel of warhammer, my first miniatures being mordhiem models and growing up with john blanche illustrations in all the books and codecs. While I think GW is still knocking their model design outta the park, I long for a time of near horror themes attached to my models. So if you guys have any ideas of how to implement and realise this, let me know!

I've always been a sucker for chaos, especially chaos corrupted knights and space marines. Chaos daemon princes have always been the epitome of this theme to me, and I've had a longstanding desire to create a chaos knight daemon prince for each God. Unfortunately there are no rules for a daemon prince in warcry, and so, the conversions must commence!

Deciding to start with nurgle, I naturally perused the blight king range. With only slight modifications I think the blightlords would fit my gothic oldworld aesthetic. Looking at the warcry rules, I realized the blightlord on plaguefly was the same size and base size as the daemon prince, and I had my standin rules.

Starting with the old daemon prince kit and the helbrute feet I roughed out a pose and started sculpting new armor plates and nurgliness with earnest.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

I'm doing my best to bring the daemon prince and blightking aesthetics to a matching mid point.

Hope you guys enjoy and and if you have any advice or criticism, let me know!

Cheers

I finished the right leg, making sure to give the impression of bloated flesh being constricted by the straps of his armor

To drive home that feeling of a bloated limb far to large for its armor, I sculpted lumps of flesh pushing out of the holes in is armor as well
