Dark Mech infantry lore?

What has been teased for the Dark Mechanicum as far as infantry? I believe in Arks of Omen kill servitors were mentioned as was Dark Skitarii somewhere else and the Negavolt Cultists from BSF. Do we have anything beyond that?

Just trying to come up with some ideas to kitbash and maybe have for some RPG or Inquistor28.

Dark Mech infantry lore?

As I remember from Mechanicum book most of Dark Mech infatry was deformed servitors. There was also lot of Skitarii in book, but as far as I know in 40k Dark Mechanicum doesn't have enough people to create regular Skitarii forces. I think most of DarkMech army at the moment are just crazy servitors, but it is worth saying that Dark Mechanicum doesn't show up a lot. They have their Forge Worlds deep in Chaos teritory where no one is disturbing their work

EDIT Ofc servitors used by Dark Mechanicum are usually deformed in different ways, depending on what Chaos God's power was used to create them. Dark AdMech also fills up some space in Chaos Space Marines bands from time to time

Personally I'd imagine the 30K tech thralls (especially the newer models that appear even more zombie-like) to be the line infantry of Dark Mechanicum, but I don't know actual fluff to back that up.

Sgt. Cortez wrote:
Personally I'd imagine the 30K tech thralls (especially the newer models that appear even more zombie-like) to be the line infantry of Dark Mechanicum, but I don't know actual fluff to back that up.

In Mechanicum by Graham McNeil Dark Mech infatry is basically every Mechanicum infatry afficted by blasphemous code Kelbor-Hal relased. So technically every not-named model from Mechanicum can be Dark Mechanicum. But imo it its logical only to battles on Mars, because later Dark Mechanicum wouldn't have rescoures (humans ) to make classic mechanicum infatry. That's why I think that in 40k all infatry used by DarkMech are robots or servitors. Robots because creating them doesn't require human soldier, servitors because their can work in Forges and being soldiers only in time of need

EDIT: I have almost forgotten: Tech Tralls new models are great, and imo 30k mechanicum models has far more admech vibe than most of 40k Admech minis

Given how the Ad Mech are all about dogma and the annihilation of free will, it would be interesting if Dark Mech were actually the ones allowing their minions some level of individuality.

It would fit the whole theme of Chaos being, well, chaotic. Plus, promises of technological freedom and self-reliance would also incentivize recruitment of self-taught tech-heretics, such as agri-worlders and hive-worlders who had to learn to repair and maintain vital machinery because no tech-priest was available. "Join us, and we'll let you experiment with new technology to your heart's content!"

Dark Mech infantry could be equipped with experimental, Warp-fueled weapons that are more powerful than most but have the Hazardous rule. In that way, they'd be a bit similar to Clan Skryre from the Skaven.

.

Dark Mech infantry lore?

If we get “proper” Dark Mechanicum? I expect two things.

1. A better name. I mean….blimey.

2. When we look at all the things the Mechanicum were, and the Mechanicus is, completely fine with? Naughty applications had better be proper naughty.

I mean, Tech-Thralls aren’t much more than sticking the magic lid on a passerby, taking full control of their motor functions, whilst leaving them otherwise fully conscious of their predicament.

Thallaxi were the Pluck*, installed in a metal body, and then certain bits of your brain burned away to help you live with the horror and not go all Robocop 2.

Skitarii have their lower legs removed as standard, Because. And when you get all mangled, you’re operated on again to create Sicarians.

The casual brutality in the name of their religion is staggering, so much so? Anything that’s actually off limits must be horrific. And that must be reflected on the tabletop.
