[BB] I'm nervous hosting my first game of Bloodbowl to a room filled with autistic adults.

Hello everyone!

I recently got Bloodbowl the Third Season this last Christmas and I've been gearing up to host a coaching game to my autistic support group for older adults. While I've been painting and building I've not read up much of the book due to my schedule and I'm rather nervous in hosting. They're probably not the best at mathhammer and I'm worried about forgetting the turn sequence and all the smaller rules. I've played the videogame but that's sort of different than the tabletop and I've been binge watching playing guides on Youtube, but I worry about this being my first time teaching someone and having to explain all the new measurements plus all the checks and stats.

To teach them I have Tomb Kings and the Bretonnian team, both included in the boxset.

Autism is a big spectrum, so it's difficult to predict how your group reacts to BB's particulars. If it's a "support group", I assume most are more highly affected than average. My main concern would actually be BB's reliance on (bad) luck - I have known people on the spectrum who would have been extremely frustrated when carefully laid plans cannot be carried out due to a bad dice roll (and others who wouldn't care at all, of course). I wouldn't worry about the mathhammer/rules aspect, if you make clear up front that it's fine to forget the rules, it just means you might lose out on something. The core rules are really not that complicated, and the main think you will forget is the special abilities on the players, rather than fundamental parts of the game.

I'm sure it will be fine. Sounds like you already know the group well, which is arguably the biggest thing to prepare for.

Make sure everything is clear up front so there are no major surprises, but that mistakes and unexpected things are going to happen.
