I got into the hobby in 1999 as a pre-teen, left it as I got older, returned to it (like so many others) in COVID. Really pleased to finally get involved in the Dakka community. I look forward to many passionate discussions, learning lots about the hobby, and browsing tons of inspiring photos.

Background wise: I've played 40k (a bit of 3rd, 9th & 10th), Mordheim, Heroquest and currently play a ton of D&D. These days OPR's Grimdark Future is my army game of choice (time constraints!), along with AoF Skirmish for the same reason. I've got a decent army of orks (painted up with red skin and uruk-hai icons) and a titchy army of Votann, plus plenty of assorted fantasy minis.

My current project is halflings for Age of Sigmar - I'm building a halfling Freeguild army to proxy the upcoming City of Ash Spearhead set. After that, probably Burrows & Badgers with the wife! I was watching LOTR at the time - the red-brown uruk-hai with steel helms and white hands seemed like a cool bit of iconography. I love LOTR and thought it would be a cool, unique theme!
