I mean, there’s always been a market for WW2 models, and indeed games for them. Well, I say always. Clearly not before the war, because that would be a temporal paradox.

But it seems Bolt Action, which I believe to be really well regarded, is the first Mass Market take that’s shown staying power, and so better harnessed the underlying popularity.

GW of course can’t compete in that realm. But they can create Bait for some cross pollination. Because even if it’s just folks buying a kit or two for painting and display? An understatement to put it mildly.

The BA kits are 1/56 and tiny compared to 40K models. Modern 40K stuff is somewhere between heroic 28mm and heroic 32mm, and historic 1/56 models just look wrong in that context.
