So I can have a Sgt, a vox guy, a melta/plasma guy, and either a sniper or a missle launcher team.

This is the long standing pattern of for Guard squads RT - up until the most recent codex.

Since i already have plenty of plasma/melta + missile squads, tt will fit a large # of my existing Guard as is.

If my opponents dont mind* if some squads carry grenade launchers/flamers & LC/HB/AC or Mortars instead? It can serve ALL of my old squads.
(No reason they should, many of them have been facing 10man sgt/spec/heavy squads for years)

All the unit needs is the Battleline tag & all my old stuff is good to go. Otherwise it'll just be 3 old style squads.

The "downside" (wich isnt really a downside) is that I cant take 20 man units of these guys - wich but i almost never take 20 man units of infantry as pts do need to be spent on tanks/arty/ogyrns/etc.
